Sunshine and Strawberries

There is no place like the Pacific Northwest in Summer. Summers in Seattle are so beautiful it's easy to forget the gloomy and rainy days we often experience the rest of the year.

As we approach Fall, this card is a nod to beautiful sunny days and plentiful strawberries. It's always a good time to send a friendly hello to good friends.

I created this card using August Large Die and Embossing Folder of the Month from Spellbinders - unfortunately neither or no longer available. I added texture to the paper using a wood embossing folder and shadowing using Tim Holtz Gathered Twigs Oxide Ink. I modified the basket die a bit by cutting out strips of paper and using them to create slats and wove them in to make a solid basket.

I love the texture added by the wood embossing folder and the oxide ink adds beautiful depth to the wood texture.
