I cannot believe September is almost over. Time flies when you're having fun! With my subscription to Spellbinders Club Kits, I've created this cute tractor-trailer card with the Spellbinders Large Die of the Month Membership
For me, I love adding soft blue to autumn colors. It complements autumn colors well, along with pastel green. For the background, I used Spellbinders Embossing Folder for September to create the background pattern. I then applied both Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Speckled Egg as a gradient blue to the sky and Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Twisted Citron to the ground, mimicking grass to create the background ombre effect.

For the tree itself, I did several variations on this and I'm finally happy with how this turned out. For the tree trunk, I actually cut this out using kraft-colored card stock with Cricut Design Studio. I then used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide in Ground Espresso to add depth and dimension to the tree. From there I was able to use the small leaf die included in the tractor-trailer die set to create all of the pretty leaves. I wanted it to appear like the leaves were changing and falling from the tree. I think it works well. Proportionally, I think the tree could have been a bit taller, but hey it's just a card and I can live with it.
For the tractor, I cut it out using light blue card stock and muddied it up a bit to make it look like a working tractor with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide in Ground Espresso. And for the trailer, I cut the wooden slats out of kraft card stock and again darkened it with Ground Espresso. I think the richness of the wood tone looks great with the softness of vegetables in the background.
For the vegetables, I cut the pumpkin out of soft pink card stock and applied some shadowing with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Carving Pumpkin. With the butternut squash, I cut it using cream card stock and added dimensions with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Gathered Twigs and Distress Ink Carving Pumpkin. The corn was created using a layered mustard yellow and cream card stock, with the leaves being olive green. Both the corn cob and stock were shadowed using Gathered Twigs
