HBD to My Dear Friend

My friend Apinya's Birthday is coming up on September 6th and with that in mind I took advantage of the new Simon Says Stamps Card of the Month kit. Septembers kit is called Let's Celebrate. So fitting for my needs in this moment.

I'm still very new to card making. I don't have many supplies. I didn't - until this kit - have any stamps related to birthdays. So this kit was super helpful. I can't wait to see what else I can create with it.

With this card kit I used the Simon Says Stamp Embossing Folder Minted Florals for the background. I also loved using Vicki Boutin Sweet Rush paper pack included with the kit. Such a beautiful set of patterned papers. The cake itself was created by using a small rectangle die which I used to cut out each cake layer. From there I tore each piece of paper on one of the long sides to bring in some organic texture as if it were mimicking fondant on a cake. I created the cake pedestal using a die from the Sizzix Thinlits Build A Cake set with gold mirrored stock. And finally, I completed this card with a simple Happy Birthday sentiment from the Simon Says Clear Stamps Lets Celebrate Set. I love how this card turned out!
