Spring is almost here, and what better way to celebrate than with a handmade Spring-inspired Easter card? This tutorial guides you through creating a beautiful seasonal card using the Spellbinders Pipa Die Set, Spellbinders Nature’s Canvas Stencil Set, and Concord & 9th Inks. Whether you're crafting for Easter, spring birthdays, or to brighten someone’s day, this project is perfect for all skill levels.

Materials You’ll Need:

  • Spellbinders Pipa Die Set – A versatile easter chick die set that adds whimsical dimension to your card.

  • Spellbinders Nature’s Canvas Stencil Set – Perfect for adding a soft and textured background.

  • Concord & 9th Inks – High-quality inks that blend beautifully for a subtle spring palette.

  • Cardstock (white and pastel shades) – A sturdy base for your design.

  • Blending brushes or sponge daubers – For smooth ink application.

  • Foam adhesive or glue – To add dimension and layers.

  • Die-cutting machine – Essential for cutting out your intricate die shapes.

Step-by-Step Tutorial:

Step 1: Create a Soft Stenciled Background

Start with a piece of pale yellow or cream-colored cardstock as your base. Secure the Spellbinders Nature’s Canvas Stencil over your cardstock with low-tack tape. Using a blending brush, apply Concord & 9th Inks in soft pastel hues like Buttercup, Avocado, Ballet Slipper, and Watermelon. Blend gently to create a dreamy, watercolor-like effect. Remove the stencil and let the ink dry.

Step 2: Die-Cut Floral Elements

Use the Spellbinders Pipa Die Set to cut out your cute chickedy. I used the same card stock as the background paper. If you want extra dimension, layer two die-cuts together.

Step 3: Assemble the Design

Arrange your die-cut chick over the stenciled background, playing with placement before adhering them down. Use foam adhesive to give your cute chick a raised effect for added depth. Layering different shades and shapes creates a dynamic look.

Step 4: Add a Sentiment

Choose a sentiment that fits the occasion, such as “Happy Easter,” “Hello Spring,” or “Thinking of You.” I stamped my sentiment onto the card base using Concord & 9th ink or die-cut a label for added dimension.

Why You’ll Love This Card

This spring-inspired Easter card perfectly combines soft stenciled textures, simple die-cuts, and soft ink blending. Whether gifting it to a friend or using it as a seasonal decoration, this handmade card will surely impress!
